In this consultative role, you will assess customers needs when they call in and recommend the appropriate health plan based on your familiarity with our products, plan benefits, rates and state variations.
You will provide customer coverage that includes inbound and pro-active outbound phone sales of our individual major medical, short-term medical and student health insurance products.
Bring your energetic, assertive, sales personality to help inquiring customers close the deal.
Your follow up skills will be key when you call back and help direct them through the decision making process.
As an Agent, you must have the ability to quickly assess our client's insurance needs and market the Assurant Health plan that best meets these needs. Generate own leads and manage your personal line of business in our healthy competitive environment.
Required skills/experience
We are looking for an energetic, sales oriented individual with telephone background who can handle 45 - 70 customer contacts in our sales call center.
Advanced customer service skills and the ability to ask probing questions with the ability to apply sales techniques are a must.
Excellent PC skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and a competitive, charismatic and professional attitude are key.
Desired skills/experience
Bring with you your superior verbal and written communication skills with an understanding of the insurance sales process (ideally familiar with insurance products, networks, and terminology).
Having your Life and Health insurance licenses is a plus (Life/Health licensing is included as part of training and the exam must be passed as part of the class curriculum).
Schedule Options
Many different scheduling options available!! To start, we will need you to work at least one weekend day - the later shift on Sunday until 10:30 pm or Saturday until 5:30 pm. You could do a Saturday AND Sunday shift if you want and work less during the work week! We work a 38.75 hour work week!
Example of a 4 day work week: 3 days during the work week from 11:15 am - 10:00 pm and Sat 8:00 am -5:30 pm OR Sun 10:30 am - 8:00 pm. Must be available until 10:30 pm during the week in the beginning of your employment with us but may not need whole class that late.
Example of a 5 day work week: 4 days during the work week 1:30/2:00 pm - 10/10:30 pm and a Sat or Sun shift for 7.75 hours. 5 day work week scheduled can get an extra 7.5% shift differential if you start a shift at 12:30 pm or later. Schedules will be available per business needs and can be moved up with seniority so it's not forever!
Get your foot in the door today! Training will be the first 6 weeks Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and you shouldn't miss a day!
Starting Pay: For your first four months of employment, you will be paid like you are making $43,000 a year. Agents that achieve over the average goals set forth in the targeted commission structure are paid more! After four months you will go to a base plus sales bonus. Agents "just meeting" target make approximately $53,000 a year but have unlimited potential to achieve much more......we have agents ranging all over from $50k - $95k plus!
